The Liberal Democrats will be delivering their flagship election promise to cut taxes for ordinary workers a year early.
Local workers are now paying £600 less in income tax than they were in 2010 from 5th April. This will rise to £700 next April.
Local Lib Dem Mark Jewell said, “This is welcome news for 50,300 Preston workers giving us real help to ease the squeeze on household budgets,”
“We fought for this at the last election, now we have delivered this in Government. This certainly would not be happening if the Conservatives had won a majority in 2010.”
