Following a further accident this weekend at the junction of Tulketh Road with Blackpool Road, Cllr Jewell has called for improvements to the junction.

He said, “Whilst I do not know the particular details of the accident involving two cars this past weekend, many residents have said to me that the timing of the lights and the filter light needs to be reviewed.

Other parents have also highlighted how cars back up on Tulketh Road when school ends due to the sequencing of the lights.

Whilst I acknowledge there needs to be a balance struck to allow the traffic to flow freely I have asked Highways to relook at this junction.

I have also requested a repair patch at this junction and for the box junction to be repainted.
