During full Council Questiontime County Councillor Bill Winlow posed the question as to when grit bins will be in situ and refilled in preparation for the coming winter.
In a written response it is anticipated that bins will be refilled and damaged grit bins replaced by the end October. This year a mixture of salt and grit is being used in grit bins for the first time. The material is mixed at the Myerscough Smithy salt store at Samlesbury.
County Councillor Mark Jewell said, “I will be ensuring that grit bins across Ashton, Larches and Savick are filled. If residents find any that are not then please let me know.”
