County Councillor Mark Jewell has called upon Lancashire County Council to prioritise refurbishment of the Star Youth Club.

He explained, “With the Preston Youth Zone anticipated to start this Summer, Liberal Democrats have expressed concerns about accessibility to the Youth Zone in the City centre from suburban and rural areas. Following extensive discussions with the cabinet member for Youth Services we can confirm the future of the Star Youth Club has been secured. The Star Youth Club will become a ‘spoke’ of the Preston Youth Zone.”

“However, there are limited funds for the refurbishment of Youth Clubs across Lancashire. As such, I am calling on Lancashire County Council to prioritise the refurbishment of the Star Youth Club as improvements are required.

Cllr Jewell added, “Local Residents can add their voice to this call by signing the attached petition. I will submit the petition to the Cabinet Member at the end March.
